Flake-Kelley Takes Over Dixie Leasing

One of Arkansas’ heaviest hitters in commercial real estate is bringing its forces to bear to aid one of Northwest Arkansas’ most embattled developers.

Flake-Kelley of Little Rock is now handling leasing and management for Commerce Park II and Nelson’s Crossing for Dixie Management and Investment Co.

Dixie CEO Ben Israel has been the target of numerous lawsuits and liens against both properties in recent months, leading his local partners to enlist the help of Flake-Kelley to collect rents, supervise the properties and recruit tenants.

Current tenants at Commerce Park II are Clear Channel Radio and Nestle-Purina, leaving half the 66,000-SF building available for lease at the corner of Joyce Boulevard and Old Missouri Road.

In April, Dixie obtained a building permit for $902,130 to construct the 11,300-SF Nelson’s Crossing No. 3, but work on that building at the corner of Joyce Street and College Avenue has stopped in the last few weeks.

EWI Inc. of Fayetteville has signed on to complete the job. The company expects the project to take 90 days.
