Workman, Winchell Win Apex Awards
Bob Workman, executive director of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, was named “Communicator of the Year” for 2006 by the Northwest Arkansas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
The PRSA chapter, which has about 44 area members, annually accepts entries for Apex awards in the categories of public relations campaign, media kits, annual reports, internal and external publications, writing, and creative tactics.
Tracy Winchell, economic development coordinator for the City of Fort Smith, was named the “PR Professional of the Year.”
Other Apex winners were:
• Tyson Foods Inc. of Springdale won public relations campaign of the year for its “Tyson Foods Powers the Fight Against Hunger” campaign.
• Mitchell Communications Group of Fayetteville won two Apexes (best feature story and best creative tactics) for its “Living the Formula Works” campaign for client Southwestern Energy; an Apex for special events and observances for the Starr Young Artist Piano Competition; and another for its newsletter for Southwestern Energy.
