Former Arkansas Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals catcher Tom Pagnozzi and his wife, Colleen Pagnozzi, hosted the 3rd Annual Grand Slam Celebration at their Fayetteville home the evening of May 19.
The event drew about 300 people and raised more than $60,000 for Pagnozzi Charities, which granted sports scholarships to more than 900 disadvantaged youth last year and hopes to give 1,150 scholarships this year.
The evening was highlighted by a live auction, a performance by Leah and the Mojo Doctors and the announcement of the “Legends Live On” endowment fund in honor of Tom Pagnozzi.
A few of the more notable items won during the live auction included a Razorbacks baseball package filled with autographed memorabilia that was won by Tom Johnson, an Arkansas/South Carolina game package won by Johnny Mike Walker, a weekend getaway to The Cabins at Big Springs won by Steve Cohen and a trip to Chicago with Tom Pagnozzi for a Cubs-Cardinals game won by Walker.
Another highlight came when Doug Sperber, co-founder of The Cabins at Big Springs, won $1,000, only to donate the money back to Pagnozzi Charities.
