Sisters Design Mary & Martha

The upscale offerings in Rogers can chalk up one more store to the list.
Owners, and sisters, Jakey Amos and Penny Oslica opened Mary & Martha Designs — BGG at Village on the Creeks in Rogers.
The former stay-at-home moms opened the 1,500-SF store on May 3.
Oslica said the store focuses on lines not carried by other retailers in Northwest Arkansas, yet are familiar to those moving from larger metropolitan areas.
The luxury home store offers Pine Cone Hill and Ann Gish bedding, a focus of the retailer. Other home décor comes from designers such as Ferrare with Company. The store also carries Blah Blah baby toys.
While much of Mary & Martha’s is dedicated to high-end furnishings, Amos said the store offers various price points.
“Our store is designed so anyone can come in and buy something and not be intimidated,” she said.
Opening the store wasn’t easy. After being turned down three times for a business loan, Amos and Oslica turned to the Small Business Development Center. There, they said Larry Brian, the center’s director, helped them define a business plan that finally got its blessing from Arvest Bank.
