Ex-Razorback Opens Bar
Zac Painter used to guard the goal line for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Now he guards the door at downtown Fayetteville’s newest nightclub, z330 located on West Street just north of Dickson Street.
After years in the corporate world with Johnson & Johnson, among others, following an All-Southeastern Conference senior season at safety in 1998, Painter decided to go out on his own.
Painter got the process under way back in August and successfully applied for a private club permit to serve alcohol seven days a week.
The building, constructed in 1930 and originally home to Stevens Custom Organ Co., was most recently used as a commercial art exhibition gallery and required extensive renovation after Mansfield House Holdings LLC bought the property for $755,000 last April.
Painter opened March 14 and the wide open layout of the club features a square bar in the center with a new concrete patio wrapping around the building that allowed a pleasant cross-breeze through multiple doorways at a recent crawfish boil hosted by ENG Lending.
The bar opens at 6 p.m. during the week and former teammates like Shannon Money have lent Painter a hand running the business.
