Presidential Conversions Inc. of Fayetteville recently expanded into Jonesboro and may be moving operations south within the next two years.
John Wilson, owner of the company that specializes in customizing conversion vans, said he has purchased land on the south side of Drake Field in Fayetteville for a new office. The project will cost about $1 million and include a 12,000-SF building. Neal Hefner Construction Inc. of Fayetteville will be the general contractor.
“The price of land there is really moving right now, so we may sit on it a while longer,” Wilson said. “Plus, this building has worked for us for so many years and everybody knows where to find us.”
Presidential Conversions got its retail license in 1977 and incorporated in 1987. It focuses on mobility vehicles, rehabilitation equipment — such as wheel chairs and scooters — and helping clients improve the accessibility of their homes with modifications, interior lift systems, ramps and even voice-activated control systems.
Wilson also sells a wide assortment of conversion vans. His client list includes everyone from the City of Rogers and the University of Arkansas to local businesses that need service vans.
