Mariachi?s Set to Move In

The downtown Fayetteville location formerly housing Café Santa Fe has stood empty since the restaurant closed in May 2004 when the owners filed for bankruptcy.
The siesta for the prime spot on Center Street is now over.
Nock Developments LLC applied for a building permit in October for renovations at the location and another restaurant offering Mexican fare named Mariachi’s will open soon.
With the Renaissance Towers hotel project construction under way across the street at the old site of the Mountain Inn, the mariachi music may have to be turned up a little, but the foot traffic from the completed project should make for a business fiesta.
The section of Center formerly was quite a hot nightspot with Hoffbrau Steaks next door, but it closed in January 2006 after 23 years with the owners blaming the Renaissance construction for hurting business.
