Embassy Suites Tops in Rogers

Embassy Suites’ 248 rooms are twice as many as any other hotel in Rogers, making it a shoo-in for tops in hotel revenue for the city in 2006. Embassy Suites also experienced 10.8 percent growth in 2006 with revenue of $9.21 million and paid $184,239 in Advertising and Promotions taxes.
Embassy’s growth mirrored the Rogers hotel industry as a whole. Rogers collected $438,248 from its 2 percent A&P tax, up 9.1 percent from $398,472 in 2005.
Once its current 152-suite expansion is complete Embassy Suites will be the largest hotel in Northwest Arkansas, surpassing the 325-room Cosmopolitan (formerly the Radisson Inn) in Fayetteville.
Embassy director of sales Scott Beal said the Spa Tower at Embassy will open in June and will include the Spa Botanica, a full-service spa, and a new exercise room.
Nine of the top 10 hotels in Rogers experienced growth in 2006 with only Candlewood Suites slipping 2.2 percent from 2005 and dropping from fifth to sixth in revenue. AmeriSuites moved into the top five with $1.64 million in revenue, a 13.5 percent jump.
Embassy Suites opened in May 2003 and its revenue has grown by 19.8 percent from $7.38 million in revenue in 2004. The upscale hotel had 70 percent occupancy in 2006.
