Forty Under 40: Jason K. Wilson
Jason Wilson is helping fix the health care system one provider and one clinic at a time.
Wilson oversaw the convergence of five clinics and 35 providers (doctors or nurse practitioners) under the umbrella of Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas in 2004. MANA has since grown to 85 providers, 15 clinics and 450 non-provider employees.
As the chief financial officer of the Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic from 1995 until taking the same position with MANA, Wilson used his knowledge as a former accountant at Baird Kurtz and Dobson CPAs and the guidance of current MANA CEO Larry Shackelford to merge business and medicine.
Wilson, born in Sheridan but raised everywhere from Stuttgart to Magnolia to Fayetteville, graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1992 with a degree in business administration and accounting.
His goal is to see MANA continue to grow and he is overseeing the transfer of patient records to electronic files, a move to improve service and reduce the number of duplicate tests.
Wilson is finding ways to make insurance billing more efficient and continues to guide the many divergent personalities and doctors of MANA on a common path to provide the best possible patient care.
