Forty Under 40: Angie Hardcastle
Angie Hardcastle is helping the children of Northwest Arkansas and their parents stay closer to home to receive vital medical services.
Hardcastle has worked for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences during the day since 2000. At night, Hardcastle carried a full-time student load to earn her degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas in 2004.
The Springdale native was the office manager for the Schmieding Developmental Center in Lowell while pursuing her degree with 12 hours of night classes per semester. She counts the sheepskin as her biggest achievement so far.
The degree equipped her for her current job coordinating the integration of 11 regional clinics in a new building in Lowell.
More than 14,000 children from the region who traveled to Little Rock for treatment in 2006 will now be able to receive the best care in fields like cardi-ology, neurology, pulmonology and developmental rehabilitation.
Hardcastle’s mother has been an office manager at medical clinics working with children in Northwest Arkansas for 40 years, and Hardcastle has taken that example to heart not only in her day job but also as a children’s pastor for Trinity Fellowship in Fayetteville.
