We wondered what activity J.B. Hunt had made with shares of the trucking company in the months before he died.
During the last six months, insider transactions with J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. have included the sale of 266,130 shares and purchases totaling 462,500 shares, according to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Most recently, Johnelle Hunt on Dec. 22 split with 47,600 shares at $20.76 per for a total of $988,176.
On July 6, the Hunt’s and their J.B. Hunt LLC purchased 150,000 shares for $3.15 million. The price was between $20.97 and $21.05 per share. Twenty days later, they purchased another 50,000 shares at $20.76 per share for a cost of $1.03 million.
In August, the family made three transactions, purchasing 239,500 shares at an average of $19.56 per share. The complete cost was $4.72 million.
On Oct. 17, Johnnie Hunt Jr. sold 128,000 shares at $21.82 per share for $2.79 million.
Other notable transactions include Wayne Garrison, chairman of the board. On Nov. 6, he unloaded 705,216 shares at $21.74 per share for $15.33 million.
On Nov. 16, Paul Bergant, chief marketing officer, sold 92,000 shares at $22.47 per share for $2.06 million.
