EWI Constructors Inc. of Fayetteville recently underbid two other companies to build an $11.64 million community hospital in Booneville.
EWI came in at 1.6 percent below bids submitted to the Booneville Hospital Commission. Other companies bidding were Inman Construction and J.E. Dunn, both from Kansas City. J.E. Dunn is handling construction of the new Mercy Hospital in Rogers.
“They looked at it very hard,” said architect principal John Abraham of ACI/Boland of Kansas City in an article published in the Booneville Democrat.
Joe Whiteside, co-owner and CEO of EWI, said the Booneville Community Hospital likely will be handled by the company’s Russellville office since it’s closer in proximity to the project.
