Estate Planning Council Celebrates Second Year
The Northwest Arkansas Estate Planning Council will hold a seminar from 3-5 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Holiday Inn in Springdale.
Kicking off its second year, the council will feature two topics.
“We try to have something of interest to everyone,” said Connie Hendrix-Kral, director of donor relations for the Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation.
Ace Rowley, senior vice president and regional trust executive for the central region of Bank of America in Kansas City, Mo., will discuss the legal and financial issues of asset concentrations. Kevin Shahan is a certified financial planner and founder of TruNorth, a wealth coaching and consulting firm with offices in Tulsa and Minneapolis. He will discuss advising families on wealth distribution.
Hendrix-Kral said these topics are important because more scrutiny is being placed on how assets are being handled for families, as well as the increasing inter-generational transfers of wealth.
She said the council is fulfilling an important mission by educating advisers in helping people leave both financial and spiritual legacies.
Bank of America’s Private Bank will host a reception after the speeches.
The Estate Planning Council is an outreach of the Community Foundation. It holds gatherings very other month, also alternating times between morning and lunch. Hendrix-Kral said attendance for the seminars has varied from 35 to 155.
