The Olive Garden stayed on top of Fayetteville’s restaurant list (PDF) with $2.2 million in sales for the first half of the fiscal year. But there was little change in the top 10.

Based on to the city’s hotel, motel and restaurant tax on food, beer and wine, Red Lobster and Golden Corral held their same spots from last year at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Drastically changing spots for the first six months this year was Smokey Bones Barbecue, which opened in 2004. The barbecue joint fell out of the Top 10 this year from No. 4 in last year’s list — dropping 36.5 percent in sales from $1.4 million last year to $935,750 this year.

Making the list this year at No. 9 is Catfish Hole, which had a 6.4 percent jump in sales from $975,658 during last year’s first six months to $1.1 million this year.

Also dropping in sales were Logan’s Roadhouse (No. 6), down 2.2 percent, and McDonald’s on Sixth Street (No. 8), down 3.1 percent.

Moving up three spots in the list was Chick-fil-A in the Northwest Village shopping center moving from No. 7 last year to No. 4 with a 10.3 percent increase.
