Ella’s Restaurant at the Inn at Carnall Hall in Fayetteville began cooking classes July 18. Every third Tuesday of the month, the restaurant will have two classes from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and 7:30 to 9 p.m., said Bethany Capps, director of special events.

The class had 22 attendees at its first session but will have a 15-person limit to keep the groups small, she said. Chef Travis Maier will meet with the groups, talk to them about the menu he’s prepared and demonstrate it. The guests will prepare and eat their two-course meal, accompanied by a glass of wine. Cost of the class is $30 per person.

Capps said the menu will be selected two weeks prior to the class. The first class prepared arugula salad, seared salmon with horseradish glaze and summer vegetables. Some of the future courses could cover Italian and how to grill meat, she said.
