Jayn Parenti, part owner of Parenti Inc. of Nevada, opened A Fare to Remember in Fayetteville in April. Although she, her husband Paul and daughter Shana Beaupain have been catering since October, they didn’t open a store until April.

The building — located at 3290 N. Lee Ave. — is 4,000 SF in size and can accommodate about 150 for a casual reception, Jayn Parenti said. She said costs to rent the banquet room depend on the number of people but usually range from $150 to $550.

A Fare to Remember also offers cooking classes once a month for $35 per person or $60 for two.

For catering, Parenti said she does a lot of Italian food but also does American — such as brisket and pork tenderloin. Other dishes include sushi and chicken enchiladas.

Prices depend on the style of service, she said. But for delivery luncheons, prices range from $95 to $100 for eight people, or sub sandwiches are offered for $9.50 per person. Delivery is free in Springdale and Fayetteville, but to other areas it costs $15 to $25.

The company’s gourmet-to-go dinners are $12.50 for adults and $7 for kids. Some of the choices are “Kick Butt” chicken, burgers, lasagna and brisket.

A Fare to Remember also has gourmet deserts. One of those is a 100-layer, 12-inch cake. They can make layers to coincide with birthdays (75 layers for a 75th birthday, for example).

On July 4, she said she is competing for the Guinness World Record for number of layers in a cake. For America’s 230th birthday, they’re making a 30-inch, 230-layer cake, which will be on display at the Springdale Country Club the same day. Toward the end of the night, there will be an official counting of the layers.
