Arvest to Relocate a Fayetteville Branch

Speaking of banks, Arvest Bank-Fayetteville has plans to juggle one of its branches.

The bank’s location at 1164 E. Joyce Blvd. will move across the street and east about a quarter of a mile into a yet-to-be-built 8,000-SF Arvest prototype. The spot is right next to the Chambers Bank of North Arkansas location, near the Regions Bank location and across from the post office.

Construction won’t start for a while, said Donny Story, president of Arvest Bank-Fayetteville, but he hopes to have the new office running by mid-spring 2008.

The new location will be bigger than what is currently on Joyce, and will give the drive-thru about 60 percent more space, Story said.

The Joyce Boulevard spot is pretty important for Arvest. As of June 30, 2005, the branch had $83.5 million in deposits, the second highest for the bank in that town.

The old Arvest building will be occupied by Waco Title Co., a subsidiary of Bentonville-based Arvest Bank Group Inc.

Blake Hanby, president and CEO of Waco, said his group would welcome the new space, based on its growth. The Fayetteville office closes about 130 transactions a month, he said.
