Polly Crews Dies at 76

Local radio and television host Polly Crews died April 9 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was 76.

Crews, originally from Little Rock, was a broadcast journalist for more than 30 years, according to her obituary. She had three television programs on NBC affiliate, KPOM/KFAA, Channels 24/51, now KNWA.

She also retired as the Fort Smith Arts Center director after serving 20 years in that position.

Crews was also an avid tourism activist, winning the state’s Tourism Person of the Year award in 2002.
