A six-minute Public Broadcasting Service television spot about radio frequency identification technology features Bill Hardgrave, director of the University of Arkansas RFID Research Center.

The show, titled “Spotlight On: RFID Technology,” began airing April 29 on PBS affiliate stations nationwide. It will air at least 500 times over the next six months, reaching a viewing audience of more than 3 million.

The RFID research center, a subunit of the Information Technology Research Institute, is housed in the Sam M. Walton College of Business. The center opened its laboratory in the Fayetteville Industrial Park in June 2005 with about 30 business and industry sponsors and several academic collaborators.
