Organizers Start Rolling AVF Ball
On April 7, about 12 entrepreneurs, investors and economic development leaders gathered at the University of Arkansas’ Innovation Center in Fayetteville to discuss an action plan for the upcoming Arkansas Venture Forum.
The group was invited by Tim McFarland, an employee with Arkansas Capital Corp. and an advocate of entrepreneurs in the state.
The group discussed possible chairmen and potential keynote speakers as well as brainstormed ideas for panels and breakout sessions the AVF.
Potential panels include topics on bio-energy, supply chain and logistics, private equity, high temperature/high voltage electronics, food science, and vendor-related technologies.
McFarland said the forum is tentatively set for Nov. 9 and 10 at the yet-to-be-completed John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers.
The next organizational meeting will be held April 28 at 10 a.m. at the UA Research Park in Fayetteville.
