Two McDonald’s locations were the top restaurant revenue producers in Bentonville last year. Both McDonalds’s restaurants are operated by Mathews Management Corp. of Springdale.

The McDonald’s at 201 S. Walton Blvd. was No. 1 in Bentonville with $2.51 million in sales, up 1.5 percent from $2.47 million in 2004.

The NASCAR McDonald’s took the No. 2 slot with $2.24 million, a 1 percent drop from $2.27 million in 2004.

Bill Mathews, one of the owners of Mathews Management Corp., said adding a second drive-through lane last summer at the Walton Boulevard location had increased sales by 5 percent to 10 percent.

The company opened a McDonald’s in Centerton in December, and Mathews said, “that hasn’t affected our sales in Bentonville at all.”

At No. 3, Shogun Steak House of Japan had $1.79 million in sales, an 8.2 percent drop from 2004’s $1.95 million. But the decrease appears to be because owner John Pak opened a Shogun Express in March 2005 a half mile from the existing Shogun restaurant. The Shogun Express had sales of $223,200 in 2005, taking some revenue away from the main Shogun restaurant. Together, Shogun and Shogun Express had sales of $2,016,600 for 2005, which would be a 3.2 percent increase over the main Shogun restaurant’s sales in 2004.

Buffalo Wild Wings made a strong showing at No. 5, especially since the restaurant didn’t open until May 2005.
