Forty Under 40: Marty Dennis
Marty Dennis has a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in public administration. But the two prepared him for a career as a financial adviser, he said.
Born in Huntsville, Dennis worked at his fathers title insurance company off and on while he attended school at the University of Arkansas. He earned his first degree in 1991 and the second in 1994.
In 1995, he went to work for the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce as the business development director. He was there for more than two years, then worked for Arvest Asset Management in Rogers for about four years.
After that, for the next two years, he managed the Northwest Arkansas office of T.J. Raney & Sons Inc., a financial adviser based in Little Rock.
Then in 2004, Dennis was offered the opportunity to be the first adviser in Northwest Arkansas for First Financial Services of Little Rock. He jumped at the chance.
Dennis said the highlight of his career so far has been starting the FFS office and watching it grow.
Now, Dennis said he does a lot of business planning and estate planning that involves upcoming retirement issues.
Basically Im a problem solver.
To be successful, Dennis said youve got to be dedicated and honest.
