Builders Shuffle at Shadow Valley

Shadow Valley lot owners will now have some new builder choices.

Dean and Todd Horton of Horton Homes Inc. and John Tidwell of Tanglewood Homes will start building in the 900-lot subdivision, and Vance Puttkammer is leaving the project.

Puttkammer will finish his existing projects and maintain warranties on the homes he’s built. No scuffles about it. We hear Puttkammer is just looking for business opportunities outside construction.

The new builders will not only get a chance at the remaining 400 homes to be built in the subdivision, but they will probably get a crack at Shadow Valley West.

Developer Charles Reaves said he is in the planning stages for Shadow Valley West, which will be located — you guessed it — west of the existing Shadow Valley subdivision.

Reaves said Shadow Valley West is a five- to seven-year build-out project that will be larger in acreage and homes than the existing 544-acre Shadow Valley and includes plans for a new golf course. Residents of both Shadow Valleys will have access to the same facilities.

In March, Phase 7 of Shadow Valley will open and 200 lots will be ready for home construction. In 2007, another 200 lots will be ready to finish out the subdivision.

David Harris, Judy Enderle, Kurt Puttkammer and Phil Wenzinger are the other builders in Shadow Valley.
