Parkway Bank to Branch Out

Parkway Bank of Rogers will be adding even more to the bevy of Benton County bank branches soon — at least that’s the plan.

Parkway closed on a piece of property in the Pleasant Crossing addition of Rogers on Oct. 12, and an office will go there, pending approval from the Arkansas State Bank Department, but probably won’t open until 2007.

But Jerry Carmichael, president of Parkway’s Northwest Arkansas division, said two Bentonville branches will likely precede the Pleasant Crossing location, again, pending approval.

Carmichael said the bank is looking to build a 5,000-SF office at the corner of Walton Boulevard and Dodson Road, and take up an end-cap on a retail strip center on state Highway 102. He hopes both of those will be open sometime in 2006.

As of June 30, there were 76 banking offices in Benton County.
