Parkway Bank of Rogers announced that it had elected five Northwest Arkansas residents to its board.

The bank moved its charter from the southeast Arkansas town of Portland to Rogers last year. It had operated with only one Northwest Arkansas resident on its board of directors — Jerry Carmichael, president of the bank’s Northwest Arkansas division.

The new directors are:

• Oneida Larimore, chairwoman of the Rogers Advertising and Promotion Commission;

• Mickey Rapier, a staff member of the Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas;

• Mike Necessary, co-owner of NEC Inc., an infrastructure consulting firm;

• Dave Covington, owner of Covington Enterprises Inc., an excavation and paving company; and

• Dean Eisma, owner of DEI Real Estate and Rentals.

Carmichael recently said the bank has plans to open three branches in Benton County after it relocates to its permanent offices in the Pinnacle Hills area of Rogers, which should be sometime in January.

The bank opened on Nov. 23, 2004, and managed to capture $39.1 million in deposits, or about 1.22 percent of the Benton County market share, by June 30.
