Michael Lee Theodore plans to open Kosmos Greekafe in Fayetteville by mid-November. The 2,200-SF building at 540 W. Dickson St. was previously home to Asahi Japanese Restaurant, which closed this past summer.

Theodore said Kosmos will serve fast Greek food, primarily gyros sandwiches and kabobs. Most meals will range from $5 to $7 in price, he said.

Theodore said the restaurant will seat about 50 diners after renovations are completed.

Theodore, who grew up in Memphis, received a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Arkansas in 1995. He moved back to the area from Blytheville to open Kosmos. Theodore said his father owns the Grecian Steakhouse in Blytheville.

“I grew up in the restaurant business,” Theodore said.

Theodore has applied with the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board for a permit to serve beer and wine at Kosmos.
