BSA Business Grows Big

The Business Journal told readers about Bentonville Software Associates LLC back in January. At that time, the fledgling company had about 10 customers. The list has since grown to about 25, said Lisa Bohn, the company’s CEO, filled mostly with Fortune 500 companies. She expects to do about $2 million in revenue this year.

For those who may not remember, BSA has tailored a software application called Shiloh to help suppliers to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and other retailers analyze sales data and generate custom reports.

Bohn said BSA frequently beats out big out-of-market software companies due to price, flexibility and customer service. Clients who’ve not even signed deals are telling other suppliers to check out BSA’s application, she said.

BSA will roll out a new program called Trait Master on Nov. 1. It will allow a supplier to see what’s in common across a group of stores (i.e. that Green Bay Packers merchandise sells well in Wisconsin, but not in Alabama). Trait Master is part of the Shiloh program and has some additional depth when bundled together, but it will give BSA a new product to offer users of sales analysis programs other than Shiloh.
