Centerton Looks at New Neighborhood

We know Centerton has experienced quite a boom in housing, vaulting from a population of 491 in 1990 to 2,146 by 2000. Housing starts since then are even more impressive.

So it shouldn’t be a surprise that Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has taken an interest in the hamlet that’s just four miles west of Bentonville.

Massey Holdings LLC recently sold about 36 acres of land to Wal-Mart off Arkansas Highway 102 in Centerton for $3.15 million.

Folks in the Wal-Mart Realty department weren’t talking, but we’re thinking Neighborhood Market.
