B&K Wings LLC plans to open a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Fayetteville’s CMN Business Park around Nov. 1.

John Bliss, a partner with B&K, said the 7,000-SF restaurant will open at 32 W. Joyce Blvd. The building also houses a Party City retail store. The restaurant will have about 70 employees counting part timers.

Bliss said the company is about to begin work on the construction of a Buffalo Wild Wings in Hot Springs. That store is scheduled to open in March. Building the Hot Springs restaurant from the ground up will cost about $2.5 million, Bliss said. Opening the Fayetteville store in an existing building will cost about half that amount.

B&K constructed a 6,400-SF building at 2707 Moberly Lane in Bentonville for its first area restaurant, which opened early this year.

The company plans to open three more Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants in Arkansas. Bliss said he is currently considering locations in Little Rock, North Little Rock and Fort Smith.

Paul Nelson is Bliss’ operating partner in B&K.

Minneapolis-based Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. went public in 2003. It is currently in the middle of a major expansion, with plans to have 1,000 stores open within the next several years. As of June 26, the chain had 334 locations (with 110 of those franchises) in 34 states.

Last year, Buffalo Wild Wings had sales of $152.2 million at its company-owned restaurants. That’s up 34.8 percent from $113 million the previous year. Sales at the company’s franchised restaurants hit $359.2 million, up 42 percent from $252.2 million the year before.

Same-store sales increased 9.7 percent at company-owned restaurants and 7.6 percent at its franchised restaurants.

From 2003 to 2004, revenue from franchise royalties and fees increased 39 percent to $18.8 million.
