The San Antonio-based communications giant held four of the top five spots — including Nos. 1, 2, 4 and 5 — in the recently released Arbitron Inc. spring 2005 radio ratings. Those four stations make up Clear Channel’s total Northwest Arkansas portfolio.

Meanwhile, Atlanta-based Cumulus Broadcasting Inc., which operates seven stations in the market, held five of the top 10 slots, including Nos. 3, 7, 9 and two that tied for the No. 10 slot.

Due to ties in average share percentages, there are actually 12 stations on the top 10 list.

Hendren Communications Inc. of Gravette, tied at No. 7 with KBVA-FM, 106.5.

In the coveted adult 25- to 54-year-old demographic, Clear Channel held the top four spots, with a combined 33.4 percent average share.

Country-formatted KKIX-FM, 103.9, edged past classic rock-formatted KIGL-FM, 93.3 “The Eagle,” and KEZA-FM, 107.9 in the spring for the top slot in the adult demographic.
