Scott and his father Ted Bowman of Fort Smith bought two pieces of property in Fayettevilles Dickson Street entertainment district on June 1 from developers Richard Alexander, Rob Merry-Ship, Greg House and David Buckley.

The Bowmans bought the 4,500-SF ground floor of the two-story Rollston Building Condominiums for $950,000 and the 2,800-SF Razorback Cleaners & Laundry building for $550,000. The buildings are located one block north of Dickson Street on Campbell Avenue.

Scott Bowman, who has lived in Boston for the past five years, said he will begin work in early June on Theos, an upscale restaurant that will occupy the 4,500 SF that was home to two other restaurants, Chloe Fine Dining and Cable Car Pizza, in the Rollston Building.

The displaced restaurants are both moving to different locations on Crossover Road in east Fayetteville. Chloe will reopen in July in Millennium Plaza at the corner of Crossover and Joyce Boulevard. Cable Car Pizza plans to reopen in mid-June in Kantz Center, which is at the corner of Crossover and Mission Boulevard.

Scott Bowman, who now lives in Fayetteville, said Theos should be open by football season after extensive renovation to the interior of the building. He said the restaurant will serve new American contemporary with a little Southern highlights in there. The bar, which will take up half that space, will be a destination itself, he said. The restaurant will seat about 65, and the bar will seat another 55. The business will employ about 25, including Matt Bowman, Scott Bowmans younger brother.

Scott Bowman has worked in the upscale restaurant industry in Atlanta and most recently at Azure Restaurant/City Bar and Lyons Group, both in Boston.

Were offering that upscale experience that most people have to go out of town for, Scott Bowman said of Theos. At the same time, its upscale but casual.

Scott Bowman said customers will be able to come in for an appetizer and glass of wine or a full-blown five-course meal.

Ted Bowman is a partner in Bowman & Cains Exploration, an oil and gas company in Fort Smith.

Ted Bowman said he hadnt decided yet what he will do with the Razorback Cleaners building. The family business has been located there for the past 36 years. Its owned by Tom Brannon and sons Bill and Jon. Jon Brannon said the cleaners will move but he didnt know where as of June 1.
