Gene Kelley, a Rogers lawyer, along with developers Collins Haynes and Hunter Haynes, plan to go before the Rogers Planning Commission within the next month to get a street name changed at The Peaks in Rogers.

Kelley, who owns a 15-acre tract on the west side of The Peaks, said he and the owner of The Peaks had agreed on naming the street Summit Boulevard, but the commission didn’t approve the name.

Kelley didn’t realize the name had been scratched and changed to Ajax until he saw the street sign while checking in on construction.

“I didn’t notice it until I drove by it,” Kelley said.

Apparently, Ajax is a peak in Colorado in the Bitterroot Range of the Rocky Mountains. Kelley said that was where the name came from. However, he feels it doesn’t suit the neighborhood and hopes to get the name changed.

Kelley, along with other investors, and the Haynes’ own tracts in the upscale neighborhood. General Mills is also involved in property in that area.
