It’s official. Smith Barney will be closing its Fayetteville office at 3810 Front Street and will be moving in to a 4,000-SF space in Rogers’ Pinnacle Hills area.

The financial-services firm owned by Citigroup Global Markets Inc. plans to move into its new digs in Pinnacle Hills Tower I in the next few weeks.

The former tenant of the space at 5417 Pinnacle Point Drive was Haynes & Associates Ltd. which has since moved to its new pad in Bentonville’s Metropark.

The tenant representatives were Tracy Speak of Paradigm Realty Advisors in Memphis and David Erstine of Sage Partners in Fayetteville (formerly Irwin & Saviers Co.).

Smith Barney employs 11 and plans to hire more associates after the move. In November, Smith Barney told the Business Journal that a Springdale office could also be a possibility by the end of 2005.

The move makes Smith Barney the latest in a long line of financial services firms that have gravitated away from what was the region’s downtown Fayetteville financial district. Stephens Inc., Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America’s Wealth Management Division are the biggest headliners to either move to north Fayetteville or all the way to west Rogers.
