Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc. of Greenwood Village, Colo., plans to build a 6,250-SF restaurant in Rogers. Chris Young, assistant general manager of the Red Robin in Fayetteville, said the Rogers restaurant is scheduled to open in August.

Young said the new restaurant will have 338 seats and employ about 90 people. He said it costs about $2.5 million to build a Red Robin restaurant.

Red Robin “America’s Gourmet Hamburgers & Spirits” was founded in Seattle, Wash., in 1969. In 2004, with more than 250 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada, Red Robin had about $409 million in sales.

The Red Robin in Fayetteville had $1.3 million in sales for the five months of fiscal 2004 that it was open, according to the city’s hotel-motel-restaurant tax collections, which end the year with November. If the Red Robin had been open all 12 months of the year and continued at that same rate ($265,427 per month), it would have been No. 3 in the city — behind Olive Garden and Red Lobster with $3.2 million in gross sales. All three restaurants are located in the CMN Business Park near the Northwest Arkansas Mall.
