Northwest Receives Energy Saving Honor
Northwest Medical Center of Washington County was one of 40 hospitals nationwide to receive the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Award, said Lisa Anderson, the system’s vice president of marketing and community relations.
Northwest Medical Center was one of three Triad Hospitals Inc.-owned institutions to receive the same honor. Anderson said the Springdale hospital began participating in the program in 2004.
“Our plant operations director Bill McCully and his staff have worked diligently to help our Northwest Medical Center of Washington County to reduce our overall energy consumption,” said Joyce Heismeyer, administrator of NWMCWC. “This is an important achievement.”
The rating system recognizes top performing hospitals with the prestigious Energy Star Award. The program, established in 2001, functions through a partnership between the EPA and The Department of Energy. It measures current energy performance, setting goals, tracking savings and rewards improvements in energy performance.
