Welsco Inc. Buys Ozark

Welsco Inc. of North Little Rock recently announced it had purchased the assets of Ozark Welding and Industrial Supply Inc. The company has 14 other branches scattered across the state.
Both companies specialize in distributing industrial gas and welding supplies.
The Ozark purchase, which closed Jan. 1, marks Welsco’s first foray into Northwest Arkansas with Bentonville and Fayetteville locations. Ozark Welding had been in the market for more than 20 years. Welsco serves Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri and Louisiana.
“Welsco didn’t have a foothold in Northwest Arkansas,” said Lowell Ball, the firm’s Bentonville branch manager.
Ball said the only other local industrial gas supply company is owned by Airgas, a nationwide gas supply chain.
