Charlotte Russe will replace Maurices in Fayetteville’s Northwest Arkansas Mall.

Alice Church, the mall manager, said she asked Maurices to move to another location within the mall, but the management decided to close the 20-year-old store instead.

Charlotte Russe will occupy 6,654 SF of the mall when the store opens around May 15.

Both stores are national chains. Based in Duluth, Minn., Maurices has more than 400 stores nationwide that sell clothing for young men and women. Based in San Diego, Charlotte Russe has more than 360 stores, all of which sell women’s clothing only.

Also in the mall, Helzberg Diamonds will replace Blakeman’s Fine Jewelry in the 1,576-SF space Don Blakeman left at the end of December to move to his new 7,500-SF building in Rogers’ Pinnacle Hills area.

Helzberg Diamonds, a national chain based in North Kansas City, Mo., plans to open around May 1. The company has about 260 stores nationwide.
