Rod Wallis and Brenda Lee had a working relationship for several years before they opted to merge her real estate skills with his building skills to form NWA Realty Resource Inc. of Lowell.
“We want to be a full-service real estate company, selling land, homes, commercial and everything in between,” said Wallis, who also owns Rod Wallis Construction Co.
He explained that NWA Realty Resource markets all of the homes he builds, but that’s just part of the new business. Lee’s effort to “provide value” by actively marketing the property she lists impressed him early on in their relationship, he said. She doesn’t just list property and then wait for it to sell and she’s passed that on to the company’s staff of six additional real estate agents, he said.
Lee added that the company also stresses the importance of keeping clients informed about the status of their listing.
In addition to its agents, NWA Realty Resource has a three-person support staff, which includes a closing coordinator, an administrative assistant and a receptionist.
Lee said they hope to expand the staff to include 10 sales agents by the end of 2005.
NWA Realty Resource leases 2,200 SF of office space in Lowell. The company had 26 active listings in December, and Wallis predicted they’d do $35 million in sales in 2005.
Wallis and Lee declined to disclose their startup costs, but Wallis said the company was launched with a personal investment they expect to begin gaining a return on sometime next year.
