On a day that some banks took as a holiday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Bentonville-based Arkansas National Bank officially changed its name to ANB Financial.

Nat Bothwell, marketing director for the bank, said the change has been slowly coming for the last two years and is part of the new signage, collateral materials and a marketing campaign that marked the bank’s 10th anniversary last year. But the name was officially changed at the bank’s last shareholder’s meeting on Jan. 17.

Bothwell said the new name reflects ANB’s expanded services and desire to provided a “one stop shop for all things financial.”

Arkansas National Bancshares Inc. moved into its new 55,000-SF facility at 3605 Southern Hills Blvd. in Rogers in October, Bothwell said. The facility contains offices for the holding company, a title company, the insurance arm and a full-service bank. The bank will eventually relocate to a stand-alone facility, Bothwell said, because of the amount of traffic expected in the area.

Bothwell said the facility’s neighbors are “horses to the north and cows to the south,” but he didn’t think that would last very long.

ANB Financial operates 11 offices in Benton and Washington counties and had $582 million in assets as of Sept. 30, up 20 percent from $485 a year earlier.
