James Reeves, manager of Benton County’s newest title company, Pinnacle Title, said the firm started with one office in Bentonville this fall and has plans to add an office each year for the next five years.

Reeves, who has a long history of title work in Northwest Arkansas, said he had done title service work for local real estate investors Charles Benningfield and Jim McCormick for a number of years when they asked him about the process of opening a new title company. That conversation led to plans for Pinnacle Title and Reeves said he hasn’t looked back.

Since then, Pinnacle Title has started developing a niche with customers who are “looking for something different” in title service, Reeves said.

Pinnacle Title’s new Bentonville office has five employees, including Reeves and another loan closing agent, a title researcher and a closing coordinator. The staff will double within the year when Pinnacle Title opens a Washington County office, Reeves predicted.

Pinnacle Title is leasing its 1,678 SF of office space in Bentonville, and will likely open its next office in leased space. Reeves said the company may eventually build its own offices.

Reeves declined to say how much Benningfield and McCormick invested in Pinnacle Title. The startup costs were personally financed by the partners, he said. The company expects to begin earning a return on that investment by the end of January — four months after opening.
