Bill Eddy’s Kawasaki of Fayetteville expanded a few years ago to include Yamaha and Suzuki. Now Eddy is renaming his Fayetteville store and has opened a Yamaha store on Hudson Road in Rogers — both under the name Bill Eddy’s Motorsports.

“We wanted to simplify that,” Eddy said of the Kawasaki Yamaha KTM Suzuki of Fayetteville name that wasn’t right for the new strictly Yamaha store.

Eddy said he spent about $570,000 in land and construction costs for the new Rogers store. Another $100,000 was spent on stock and equipment for the service department, and about $150,000 in Yamaha motorcycles and ATVs.

He expects to begin gaining a return on the personal investment in 18 months or so.

Joe Smith, sales manager for the new Rogers store, said it would likely always be just a Yamaha dealership because existing dealerships already provide Suzuki and Kawasaki sales and service to Benton County. However, he said, the store’s service department can handle all types of motorcycles and parts are available for all makes.

The new store has three employees including Smith. The store has 8,000 SF, with about 6,000 SF devoted to the showroom. Smith predicts he’ll have to double the staff in Rogers once business revs up.
