Lemke Society Honors Herrington

Gene Herrington, who writes features and special sections for the North Little Rock Times, was inducted into the Lemke Journalism Alumni Society’s Hall of Honor at the University of Arkansas on Oct. 22.
After graduating from the UA in 1941, Herrington was on the editorial staff of the Arkansas Democrat from 1942 until 1969 (except for a 20-month stint in the U.S. Army). He served as managing editor for 10 years.
After working for the Democrat, Herrington was assistant manager of corporate communications for Arkansas Power and Light Co. for 16 years.
