If you heard radio commentator Paul Harvey lead his show around July 1 with news of Charles W. Pollard being named president of John Brown University in Siloam Springs, your ears weren’t playing tricks on you.
Harvey was friends with John Brown Jr., son of the founder of JBU. In 1959, JBU gave Harvey an honorary doctor of laws degree. Lynn Harvey, his wife, has served on the JBU board of trustees.
“We have a direct line to him,” JBU spokesperson Lindsay Dikes said of Harvey. “We feed him information when things come up.”
