PRSA Gives Apex Awards

Northwest Arkansas’ chapter of the Public Relations Society of America recently announced the recipients of its Apex Awards, which “recognize professionalism and excellence in public relations and exemplary communication practices.”

The recipients included:

n Otto J. Loewer, director of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Arkansas, was named the Communicator of the Year.

n Marilyn Johnson Heifner, director of the Fayetteville Advertising and Promotion Commission, was named the Public Relations Professional of the Year.

n A public relations campaign by the Sells/Clark agency of Fayetteville for the Arvest/Superior bank merger was named Campaign of the Year.

The honorees were nominated by members of the Northwest Arkansas chapter and the local community and selected by judges from the Tri-Cities Chapter of PRSA in Tennessee.
