Aimee Ellis is offering a new way to heal Northwest Arkansas residents. Ellis, a licensed massage therapist and chiropractic assistant, recently added the title lymph-drainage therapist to her résumé.

Ellis describes the lymph-drainage process as a natural detoxification of the body’s immune system.

Ellis treats clients fighting anything from the common cold to cancer, along with individuals who want to strengthen their immune systems and prevent illness. She works at the Unruh Chiropractic and Wellness Center with two chiropractors and a naturopathic doctor.

“The process gives the body a break and lets it function at a better level,” said Ellis. Ellis also offers herbal supplements to help further the cleansing and feed the body.

Ellis differentiated between massage therapy and lymph-drainage. “Massage is more blood-related while lymphatic pinpoints a specific system, but one benefits the other,” said Ellis.

The lymphatic treatments start at the base of the neck and face then move down the arms. The neck and groin areas hold the majority of the body’s lymph nodes and are therefore the focal point of the treatments.

Ellis performs the noninvasive treatments with the aid of a hand-held machine.

Ellis traveled to California for her lymph-drainage schooling and has since worked the procedure into her massage and herbal wrap treatments. She financed the project and declined to disclose her startup costs.
