Tom Reed developed Real Estate Market Data Inc. after spotting a need for market-based information in his other business, Reed and Associates Inc. Market Data provides the statistics that area contractors need while shopping for the right parcel or property.

Initially, Market Data started by addressing the new residential subdivisions in Washington County but has since branched out to include commercial and retail analysis of Benton County, too.

“With the growth in Northwest Arkansas, financial institutions are concerned about what is happening in the markets, and we’re providing the information,” Reed said.

Market Data produces quarterly reports including research studies on absorption rates and feasibility studies. Reed and Erstine work with property owners and developers, along with real estate agents and local courthouse records, to compile the reports. Financial institutions subscribe to the reports and use the information to make judgments on mortgage loans for large scale construction projects in the area.

Erstine said Market Data reports can provide data that would take hours of time to find individually. Saving time is important to investors and financial institutions to stay abreast of the latest data on the area’s growth.

Reed and Erstine operate Market Data out of a 4,100-SF office shared with Reed and Associates and Irwin and Saviers Real Estate. Reed and Erstine financed the company and declined to disclose their startup costs.
