Forty Under 40: Brittany Adair
Brittany Adair grew up in Little Rock and earned her degree in small business management from the University of Arkansas in 1996.nShe moved to Miami and worked for an insurance company and part-time at a jewelry store, then returned to Fayetteville in 1997 and began working with her father and co-owner of Romance, Patric Brosh. At that time, Romance had no retail location and was a private sales jeweler. nShortly after that, she moved to Dallas where she worked with Egana of Switzerland as a sales and marketing manager, selling to independent jewelers for more than two years. Adair said the experience with Egana was invaluable because it helped her understand the other side of the business more thoroughly. nShe came back to Fayetteville in 2002 and bought into Romance. She said her work to move the firm to a highly visible retail location on Dickson Street and a marketing push has helped double the firm’s revenue since September 2003. n”I love to sell a diamond to someone and see that it makes them happy,” she said.nHer advice to small business owners is to “keep an open mind and be able to wear a lot of hats.” Time management and organization are key factors, she said.n
