Tyson Partners With Canadians

Tyson Foods Inc. on Nov. 13 announced that it would be participating in a joint venture with Export Packers Co. Ltd. in Toronto to produce fully cooked chicken products to be for sale in Canada. The partnership will be named Export Packers Foods Ltd.r

The joint venture, planned for startup in the spring, will make the product in a production facility in Paris, Ontario, that will initially employ 30. Tyson brand products, as well as products branded under Export Packers, will be produced there. The partnership combines efforts of both company’s existing sales forces and existing distribution channels to create a Canada-wide sales force with an all-segment representation.r

Export Packers was originally founded in 1937 and has its headquarters in Brampton, Ontario. It is one of Canada’s largest privately owned food companies in addition to being one of the largest importers of poultry products in Canada.r
