Thanks for the Graphic (Opinion)

While we’re bragging on the Democrat-Gazette, we would also like to say thanks for publishing a chart every time the U.S. Department of Commerce issues new gross domestic product numbers. r

In the Oct. 31 issue, the D-G’s Page 1 graphic told the GDP story at a glance. The Morning News, on the other hand, left readers with a sea of words to wade through and dredge up the stats. Both stories were by The Associated Press, but the D-G took the extra step and did its own graphic. The GDP, which is widely considered as the best barometer of the nation’s economy, was up 7.2 percent in the third quarter, the biggest increase since 1984.r
