Cumulus Changes 94.9 Format ? Again

Cumulus Broadcasting Inc. changed the format of radio station KDAB-FM 94.9 on Oct. 1 to adult contemporary. Along with the change comes a new nickname, “Y 94.9.”r
The station was soft adult contemporary until April 2002, when it was changed to a 1980s station and dubbed “The Maxx.”r
Joe Conway, local market manager for Cumulus, said the change means KDAB is going to compete directly with Clear Channel Communications’ KEZA-FM, “Magic 107.9.”r
Conway said adult contemporary stations draw many listeners from the female 25-54 demographic.
